Tilt Stage
A compact manual tilt stage for the Phenom sample holder.
The minimal tilt axis#
The Tilt Stage (T) is the simplest of Kleindiek’s Phenom positioners: a compact, manual stage with a single tilt axis and no rotation, dropped straight into the Phenom’s sample holder. Where RT adds a full 360° rotation on top of the same tilt range, T is for the case where tilt is all the experiment needs. Its tilt axis adjusts from +90° down to −3°, matching a resolution of under 0.4 µdeg (6.5 nrad) shared across the whole positioner family.
Narrow the range by hand#
When only a small range around a set angle is needed — as in repeated 3D-imaging series — the tilt axis can be manually limited to ±3° for finer control over that stretch.
